Due to menopausal shoulder, neck, and arm pain that limited my mobility, I sought treatment at various hospitals and specialized clinics. The therapies offered some temporary relief, but the pain always returned, and nothing seemed to work long-term. Eventually, my sister-in-law introduced me to moxibustion. I figured—why not give it a try?
She gave me a few Jubutang moxa sticks she had been using, along with some tools to get started. As I kept using them, I started seeing real results. Doing moxibustion at home turned out to be much more convenient—it saved both time (no more endless waiting rooms) and medical costs, not to mention reducing the risk of catching anything in crowded clinics.
At first, I didn’t know much—how to do it effectively, which acupuncture points to use, or what each point was good for. My sister-in-law forwarded me the official Jubutang WeChat page, and that’s when I began learning.
1. Where does illness come from? The ancients believed, “Better to nourish with warmth than to treat with cold.” Cold damages yang energy, weakens immunity, and throws the body’s systems into imbalance. Cold is the root of many chronic and lingering health issues.
2. How to target illness? The best approach is to apply moxibustion on Guanyuan, Zusanli, and Zhongwan points to replenish core energy—that’s treating the root cause. At the same time, moxa can be applied to the areas of pain for symptom relief. The Zusanli point is especially powerful for boosting immunity, enhancing vitality, and slowing aging. It also offers supportive effects for a wide range of health problems.
I also learned that moxibustion can aid in beauty care, treat high blood pressure, colds, and more. It can be done year-round—and especially useful in summer to treat winter illnesses.
After diving into all this information, I asked my sister-in-law to buy me a full box of moxa sticks. Whether I’m at home or at work, I use them whenever I can. Once I saw how effective it was, I recommended it to my mom. She’s older and often in pain. I told her that moxibustion could help improve digestion, strengthen the spleen and stomach, warm the meridians, disperse cold, and relieve pain—especially for rheumatic issues. Now she does it once a day.
After a few months, she started to feel better—her leg pain eased up. She uses a slice of ginger between the moxa and skin, and it works wonders. Wherever it hurts, she applies moxibustion, and it’s made a big difference. Even when she soaks her feet at night, she boils Jubutang herbal bath packets to steam and soak them. Her skin, which used to itch, and the foot pain she suffered from, all improved gradually.
Using Jubutang moxa sticks and foot soak packs cost far less than regular hospital treatments. A single therapy course at the hospital could cost over a thousand yuan. At home, just a few sticks a day do the job.
Now, whenever a coworker or friend mentions they’re not feeling well, I immediately recommend moxibustion—and always stress the importance of using Jubutang aged moxa sticks. Good experiences and methods should be shared with people around us so they can benefit too.
To better understand acupuncture points, I even bought a human body acupoint model. I use it to find the right points and take care of my health through regular moxibustion.
After two years of using Jubutang moxa, here’s what I’ve gained:
-
My pain is gone.
-
I’ve learned about the body’s acupoints.
-
I’ve helped people around me.
-
I’ve taken charge of my own wellness.
My next plan? Set up a dedicated moxibustion room in our new home, with a proper exhaust vent and one of the special moxa beds developed by Jubutang. Imagine our family lying down and enjoying health care in comfort.
Moxibustion—it’s something I can no longer live without for the rest of my life.
